For the period 2018-2022, UICISA: E integrates researchers and collaborators from 24 Institutions of Higher Education and Health Services.

Develop international and interdisciplinary R & D activities to address complex, sustainable and socially responsible issues in health promotion, disease prevention and nursing care.

 Vision

Unit leading the way of modern nursing research:

Nursing research reference at a national and international level;

Environment promoting interdisciplinary and collaborative research;

Excellence in the synthesis and implementation of science to promote health care by Evidence Based Practice

Merit in the creation of healthcare technologies aligned with the needs of users and health professionals.

Organization in research cluster:

For the purpose of organization and performance, and in accordance with the Statutes, UICISA: E extends into other institution units. Each unit has its own synergy, fulfilling and respecting all the rights and duties regulated in the Statutes of UICISA: E.

The creation of units offers the following advantages: Researchers from a participating institution can improve internal organization and create their own synergies; the unit coordinator represented on the Unit's Scientific Committee; the productivity elements of each unit validated before delivered to the scientific coordinator of UICISA: E for external evaluation by the FCT.
